How to Register a Business in Trinidad

  1. Search for your Business Name

    Start by entering your name in the Business Name Search form above to perform a search that checks if your proposed Business name is available in Trinidad & Tobago.

  2. Reserve your Business Name(s)

    Choose a Business name and submit the name reservation application for approval.
    If the name is not approved, you can submit another name or make adjustments to the original name.
    If the name is still not approved after two attempts, you must pay for another name reservation application.
    Once the new name is approved, you can proceed with registering your Business.
    Keep in mind that there are certain requirements and restrictions on Business names, such as not being identical or too similar to an existing Business name or trademark, and not being misleading or deceptive. The Registrar General will review your Business name to make sure it meets these requirements.
  3. Register your Business

    Once your name reservation is approved, you would receive an email notification allowing you to proceed with the Business Registration.

    In the email, you would receive a link that allows you to fill out & submit the Business Registration form.

  4. Await Registration Approval

    When your Business Registration Application is approved, you would receive an email notification asking you to print & sign your approved Business Registration forms.

  5. Collect your Registration Certificate

    You would receive an email notification when your Registration certificate is ready so that you can arrange collection.
